Brand Similarities and Differences

The two mattresses have similar branding. Both Loom & Leaf and Tempur-Pedic present as luxury models at affordable prices. This is good news if you are like most of us who are on a budget yet still want quality for what you are spending!

Of course, something we cannot deny is that Tempur-Pedic is the original foam king. Think back one decade or even two and the traditional go-to for an all-foam mattress was Tempur-Pedic. Now the online market is growing, even when it comes to mattresses, and Loom & Leaf by Saatva is a contender on the foam mattress scene.

Now, let’s look at the specific features of Loom & Leaf vs Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme Breeze so you can see what to expect from each mattress for feel, firmness, and more.

Materials and Construction: How Do They Compare?

Saatva’s Loom & Leaf Mattress is 12 inches high, which is half an inch more than the Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme Breeze. Interestingly, both of them have four foam layers, although the details of each are different. Take the 2 inch top layer of each one, for example.

For Loom & Leaf, the focus is on the gel for cooling effect with this highest level. The gel memory foam is dense at 4 pounds and absorbs body heat, including a spinal cooling pad. With a lower temperature, the body is more likely to stay comfortable for a deep sleep. As for Tempur-Pedic’s Cloud Supreme Breeze, the focus of the top layer is softness. The visco elastic memory foam is soft and hugs the body with great contour, which this brand is well known for.

Here is how the other layers compare:

  • Second Layer – Cloud Supreme Breeze features another 2 inches of visco elastic memory foam, but this layer is a bit firmer than the top for both support and comfort. For Loom & Leaf, the second layer is 2.5 inches of 5-pound memory foam for deep support while providing good pressure point relief.
  • Third Layer – Loom & Leaf focuses on transitioning between the upper and lower layers with 2-inch polyfoam. The same is true of Tempur-Pedic, except its transition layer is 4 inches rather than 2.
  • Fourth Layer – This final foam layer for both mattresses is designed to provide support for the layers above it and a base for the overall product. While Cloud Supreme Breeze is 3.5 inches, Loom & Leaf by Saatva is 5.5 inches.

Both mattresses also have a cover. The Loom & Leaf is a completely organic cotton cover, and Tempur-Pedic has a polyester-spandex blend cover. If you’re looking for an eco-friendly cover, then Saatva’s Loom & Leaf is exactly that.

Loom & Leaf vs Tempur-Pedic on Support, Firmness, and Feel

After comparing the construction of these beds, including analyzing the different layers, we confirm that:

  • Both mattresses use high-quality foam
  • They offer excellent support

We are very confident in these statements after reading positive online reviews on quality and support for both of the mattresses.

Tip: Loom&Leef Memory Foam is a Luxury mattress in a relatively normal price

Regarding firmness, Loom & Leaf has two different options to choose from, which allows you to determine if you want a Relaxed Firm or Firm, with the latter one being the firmer of the two. Meanwhile, Tempur-Pedic’s Cloud comes in a medium firm only. Of course, Tempur-Pedic has several other models of different firmness levels that you could look at instead if medium firmness doesn’t appeal to you.

Regarding the sinking feeling that memory foam mattresses are known to have, the Cloud Supreme Breeze has a slow sinkable quality as you lay in that several users describe online. If this feeling of being enveloped or hugged is one you like, then you’ll appreciate it in this mattress. If instead, you find the sinking feeling to be uncomfortable then you might opt for Loom & Leaf by Saatva as it doesn’t have that sinking in feel.

Do Loom & Leaf and Tempur-Pedic Keep You Cool?

As we earlier described, Loom & Leaf has a top gel layer designed to cool the body. The innovative built-in gel spinal cooling pad helps lower the mattress temperature, according to numerous web reviews. If you tend to sleep hot, then you would likely prefer Loom & Leaf. Some reviewers write online that Tempur-Pedic’s Cloud is warm. These reviewers are only a few, and not the majority, but we still want to point this out in case you have a sensitivity to sleeping hot.

Consider Sleep Position Too

A key consideration when shopping for any mattress is your sleep position. The Cloud Supreme Breeze is ideal for side sleepers when it comes to pressure point relief. Essentially this means the mattress goes easy on your hips, shoulders, and other sensitive areas while sleeping on your side.

The Loom & Leaf is different though. It has different levels of firmness so you can choose the one you like based on how you sleep. As a result, a side, stomach, back, or combination sleeper on Loom & Leaf can find comfort and pressure point relief. Being able to customize mattress firmness is a big benefit in this regard.

Both mattress models receive rate low for motion transfer from users across multiple websites, which is great. If you sleep with a partner, this is good news. Even if your partner moves a lot during the night, it’s not likely to move the mattress and wake you up.

Warranty and Trial Period: Loom & Leaf vs Tempur-Pedic

Loom & Leaf by Saatva is known for having a longer-than-average sleep trial, and the same holds true for the warranty period. It has a 180-night sleep trial, giving you several months of trying out the mattress in your home for full nights to see if you like it. It also comes with an impressive 15-year warranty, which gives you peace of mind in the longevity of your new mattress.

Meanwhile, Tempur-Pedic has a ten-year warranty. While it is less than Loom & Leaf, it is still a good amount of time. Tempur-Pedic offers a 90 day trial period. Again, it’s less than the other model, but it’s what many companies offer and is still a respectable amount of time to try out the mattress.

Tip: Loom & Leef mattress by Saatva is covered by a great warranty program

Sizes Comparison

Tempur-Pedic’s Cloud is available in more sizes than Loom & Leaf by Saatva. Loom & Leaf comes in the standard ones: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. The Cloud Supreme Breeze also comes in these same sizes, as well as Split King and Split California King. If a large split size is what you seek, then this Tempur-Pedic model offers what you want.

Conclusions on Loom & Leaf vs Tempur-Pedic

These two mattresses both contain quality foam, and they offer support and comfort at an affordable price. As this review comparison shows, they both also have low motion transfer and come in many sizes. But they differ in several regards, including how well they cool the body, which sleeping position they favor, and the length of sleep trial and warranty. Which one you feel is better for your home depends on your priorities when it comes to the mattress features. For example, if a long warranty is the top quality you’re looking for, the Loom & Leaf Mattress will come out on top. But if you want a Split Cali King, then it’ll be Tempur-Pedic. Either way, now you have the details to make the decision that’s right for you.
