What Makes the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Different?

Unlike a traditional hybrid mattress, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid uses proprietary materials to provide a cooler sleep surface and pressure relief. It does so by using the latest technology, combining gel-infused memory foam, AirCradle memory foam and pocketed comfort coils.

The Saatva model also stands out because it is not a mattress in a box, which is a popular type of online mattress. Rather than keeping with the box concept, Saatva creates the Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress that is delivered white glove, rather than being stuffed in a box.

Finally, the design is contemporary because it combines foams and pocketed coils, in a proprietary way that provides a lot of movement. Some people may find that there is more movement than a mattress that consists only of memory foam.

Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Review of Construction

This hybrid mattress is made of 6 layers. It is 11.5 inches thick.

At the top is an organic cotton cover that feels soft and is naturally breathable. It is hypoallergenic, which is good news to anyone with sensitivities at night and has a patented lumbar zone quilt package.

The zoned quilt provides comfort and extra support in the center third of the mattress to encourage correct spinal alignment. A plant-based thistle flame barrier is also part of this package, and we appreciate the safety feature.

Below the cover is a 1/2-inch gel-infused lumbar support layer made of 100% natural latex. The latex lumbar support crown works with the lumbar zone quilt package above it to support the lower back and draw away heat. This feature will appeal to some people who seek more back support.

The crown also provides extra strength and durability in the section of the mattress that holds most of the sleeper’s weight. Finally, the latex layer is made to provide a more responsive feel for some people than a traditional foam mattress.

Underneath the support layer is the 1 ½-inch Air Cradle memory foam layer briefly mentioned earlier. With a unique wave design, the foam draws air from the upper layers down to the lower layers while providing comfort.

This layer works with the 8-inch pocketed comfort coils to promote airflow. Pocketed or individually wrapped coils are also known to provide ample support and prevent motion transfer.

Last is the high-density foam rails and 1-inch support core designed to prevent sagging and provide edge support. This highly resilient and dense material gives you stable, balanced support designed for a comfier sleep.

Sizes Available

Saatva’s Memory Foam Hybrid comes in standard mattress sizes. They are:

  • King
  • Cal King
  • Split King
  • Queen
  • Full
  • Twin
  • Twin XL

It’s nice to see the range of sizes to meet different sleep environments. For example, couples will have more room to spread out in a King size mattress than a Twin.

As the sizes increase, so too does the price. Still, it remains affordable for a luxury hybrid mattress.

Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Review: Pros and Any Limitations

There are a lot of great features about this mattress, as well as potential drawbacks. As with our other reviews, this one provides both so that you can better understand what to expect from the Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress.

Cooling Approach

The mattress design overcomes a significant disadvantage of traditional memory foam, which is that it tends to sleep hot. To help prevent the sleeper from waking up in the middle of the night sweating, the mattress uses a triple-phase LuxeCool system.

First, the gel-infused memory foam lumbar crown draws away heat. Next, the AirCradle memory foam promotes airflow with its unique wave design. These layers works with the pocketed coil layer below, which maintains air circulation and sends heat away from your body.

When taken together, these three layers form a powerful heat management system. Some sleepers may enjoy a cool sleep surface that enables them to sleep comfortably through the night without waking up because of overheating.

Another benefit of this triple-phase approach is that the sleeper can receive more support. This is because hot foams have less structure and rigidity than cool foams and pocketed coils.

Ease of Movement

Many sleepers like memory foam mattresses because they have a hug-like feel, and Saatva’s Memory Foam Hybrid is designed to provide that. It also goes beyond traditional hybrid models with a proprietary combination of foams and coils that can offer more resilience.

The result is a more responsive mattress, making it easier to move on top of it than a strictly memory foam or traditional hybrid type. A heavier person may want a mattress with a great ease of movement as it will prevent a sinking, trapped kind of feeling. A responsive mattress is also conducive to sexual activity, so couples may want to consider this feature when shopping.

Visit Saatva

Off-Gassing

Furthermore, the natural materials in this hybrid mattress, such as the 100% natural latex layer and organic cotton cover, reduce the risks of chemical off-gassing. This feature is likely to be important to someone with scent sensitivities and those who want better indoor air quality in their home.

Lumbar Support

Lower back pain can affect the bottom vertebrae in the lumbar area. If you are sleeping in a position that does not properly support your back and spine, you may experience back pain. To help with these issues, the Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress is designed with superior lumbar support in mind.

The lumbar support features help to protect the back while sleeping. First, the natural latex layer provides extra support in the lower back area with its latex lumbar support crown. The crown also provides extra durability and strength where most of the body’s weight is while asleep.

Further support comes from the lumbar zone quilt cover. It is composed of soft foam and a natural thistle and wool blend flame barrier, to provide support and comfort in the center third portion of the Saatva mattress. The design encourages a healthy sleep by positioning the body such that it is more likely to have proper alignment of the spine.

Price

The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is slightly above mid-range for price in the mattress category. While it is not the cheapest option, it is a great value for a luxury hybrid mattress, in our opinion.

The mattress design includes cutting-edge technology, high-quality foams, pocketed coils and thoughtful construction. Plus, white glove delivery is included across the US, and there are occasionally discounts on the company website. The mattress also comes with a good sleep trial and warranty.

White Glove Delivery

As earlier mentioned, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is not a mattress in a box. Rather than being compressed, folded, and rolled into a box to ship to the consumer’s home, this particular mattress includes free white glove delivery and setup in any bedroom in the US. It is not at risk of foam cell structures breaking down and creating issues like uneven firmness from being stuffed into a box for shipping.

Thus, Saatva will arrange to deliver and set up the mattress in your bedroom of choice. We appreciate this high level of care, especially since it is free. Not everyone is handy at putting furniture together, and a mattress can be awkward to handle because of its size.

Sleep Trial and Warranty of the Saatva Memory Foam Mattress

Saatva includes a 365-night sleep trial with your new mattress. That means you can try it out at home for 365 nights after purchase to decide if it meets your sleep needs. We think that being able to test out the mattress for many nights like this is superior to laying on it in a physical store for a few minutes.

If you decide it is not right for you, you can return it within the trial period for a refund. Please note that there is a return delivery cost.

Also, a lifetime warranty comes with the Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress. We encourage you to read the warranty in full to understand what that includes. In our opinion, the warranty period is generous, which speaks to the high customer service standards set by Saatva.

It is important to know too that Saatva can change its policies at any point in time. We are not responsible for any discrepancies between this review and its policies if there are changes.

Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Conclusion

This mattress is a luxury model that combines various types of foam and coils for potentially powerful effects. For example, it can offer lumbar back support for proper spinal alignment, which can help prevent soreness in the lower back the next day.

The luxurious Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has many great qualities, including helping the sleeper stay cool all night. It is also a great value for a luxury mattress and even includes white glove delivery and set up in the US. There are many sizes available too. For these reasons, we recommend the Saatva Memory Foam Mattress.

It is a Mattress in a Box: What That Means

Glacier’s Summit Hybrid is a mattress in a box, a popular type of affordable mattress available online. It is compressed, packaged, and rolled into a box to conveniently ship to your home within the 48 contiguous US states. As the mattress contains memory foam, it is bendable.

With no special delivery service and no middleman, mattress in a box models incur fewer expenses and pass that savings on to shoppers like you with a lower price tag. When the box arrives, simply unbox the mattress in the bedroom. It typically is easier to get through doorways and hallways than a traditional mattress. Handles on the mattress sides make it easier to move. During the simple setup, ensure the quilted surface is facing up.

As per Glacier’s US website, its mattresses typically expand within 5 minutes of unboxing. While it expands quickly, giving it a few extra minutes to settle before use can help maximize comfort, their site further explains.

Size Choices

When choosing a mattress, selecting the right size is important. Glacier’s Summit Hybrid Mattress is 13-inches thick and available in many standard US sizes:

  • Twin: 38” x 75”
  • Twin XL: 38” x 80”
  • Full: 53” x 75”
  • Queen: 60” x 80”
  • King: 76” x 80”
  • Cal King: 72” x 84”

Check Sizes Price

Medium Firmness

The Summit Hybrid is medium, with a 5-6 rating on the mattress firmness scale, as per Glacier’s US site. The industry-wide scale of 1-10 provides a way to describe how the mattress typically feels, with 1 being the softest and 10 the firmest. A medium mattress means it does not feel overly soft or extra firm. Many sleepers find medium firmness comfortable, although what you prefer is an individual thing.

Medium has a cushioned feel without a sinking feel, without sacrificing support. The Summit Hybrid Mattress is designed for all sleep positions, per Glacier’s site. It can suit couples with different preferences for firmness as it is a compromise between soft and firm.

Handcrafted to Order

This mattress is handcrafted in the USA and made to order. So, when your order is received, craftsmen in New Jersey, Chicago, and Los Angeles begin creating your mattress, explains Glacier’s website. This attention to quality is impressive, in our opinion.

Those who value domestic manufacturing will likely appreciate that the mattress is designed and assembled in the USA. It contains domestic and imported materials.

Six-Layer Construction

Advanced cooling fibers and pressure-relieving memory foam are among the standout materials in Glacier’s Summit Hybrid Mattress. It has natural fillings; there is no fiberglass or toxic chemicals.

The 13-inch thick Summit has a hybrid design composed of six layers. At the top is a Cooling Comfort Zoned Pillow Top for support and comfort. The patented ChiroZONE™ quilting offers extra support and durability for the lumbar zone area (lower back). This proprietary tightened quilt pattern is made stronger in the lumbar area to support most of the body weight.

Cooling and breathability features in the pillow top offer potential benefits; we’ll discuss later in this review how the materials throughout the Summit Hybrid Mattress can benefit some sleepers. For example, the top cover’s glacierTech° Elite cooling fabric offers refreshing comfort for those who typically overheat at night. The advanced fibers quickly cool the body by absorbing and dispersing heat.

The second layer is the CarbonICE™ lumbar zone support featuring graphite-infused memory foam. Next is 2 inches of CertiPUR-US® gel-infused memory foam layer for responsive support, and beneath it is a breathable ARCFlow™ ventilated gel foam layer.

The fifth layer has two rows of thick, individually-wrapped coils. Finally, a stable base helps prevent the layers above from shifting. That can make for a more durable, longer-lasting construction. With more than 1,000 individually wrapped steel springs in queen size and up, the Glacier Summit Hybrid offers excellent perimeter-edge support for a range of sleep styles.

Designed for Comfort for All Sleep Positions

This mattress is designed for use by side, stomach, back, and combination sleepers, as per Glacier’s US site. That means the medium firmness of this mattress may provide cradling comfort for any sleep style without a sinking feel. With multiple foam layers and coils, the mattress may provide comfort and support for some people.

Glacier Summit Hybrid Mattress Review: Benefits and Any Drawbacks

This hybrid mattress has potential benefits and as with anything else, there are possible limitations for some sleepers. A clearer picture of what to expect can help determine if the Summit Hybrid offers what you want.

Back Support and Pressure Relief

A mattress offering pressure relief and back support can help some people have a comfier sleep. This Glacier mattress has a Congress of Chiropractic State Association Seal of Approval. The esteemed designation means it meets necessary standards to potentially improve spinal health.

The patented ChiroZONE™ quilting is designed to offer extra support in the lumbar zone area. Furthermore, the CarbonICE™ layer helps disperse body weight for pressure relief in this part of the back and encourages the spine’s neutral alignment. This layer will likely be important for those seeking a mattress with extra lumbar support and pressure relief where needed.

Those who regularly experience painful pressure buildup in the hips, neck, and shoulders after a night of sleep may also benefit from the Glacier Summit’s construction. For example, the thick gel-infused memory foam layer is designed for pressure relief in these specific body areas. It is designed for responsive support, and the ARCFlow™ gel foam layer offers precise body contouring, as can the coils. The ARCFlow™ foam is designed to responsively support the body in all sleep positions. The graphite-infused memory foam layer adds more pressure relief and support.

Furthermore, the individually-encased coils are able to move individually, potentially providing targeted support and body contouring. When taken together, these features make this mattress one to consider to help prevent body aches. If you have chronic pain, though, we recommend seeing a doctor for custom treatment. This review is not intended as medical advice.

Advanced Cooling and Breathable

Different materials in Glacier’s Summit Mattress are designed for cooling and better breathability, features that hot sleepers and those who want a healthier sleep environment may look for. Good airflow can lead to a drier mattress, more sleep comfort, and better overall bedroom hygiene. For example, the graphite-infused memory foam absorbs body heat and disperses it more efficiently than standard memory foam, as it does not trap heat around the body. Graphite is known for excellent thermal conductivity. The additional gel foam layer enhances the cooling relief.

The advanced cooling tech in this mattress impresses us. The CarbonICE™ Lumbar Zone Support helps draw heat from the body, while the ARCFlow™ layer has a ventilated design to allow air to pass easily through it. A mattress with better temperature regulation can make sleeping comfortably easier and potentially lead to deeper slumber.

Cooling fibers in the pillow top layer can wick moisture away from the body, potentially preventing waking up unexpectedly from a deep sleep in a sweat. This top layer also offers a plush sleep surface, with some online reviewers commenting on its soft feel.

This glacierTECH° Elite cover features Glacier’s most advanced cooling fabric, quickly absorbing heat before dispersing it to help keep you dry throughout the night. The spun fibers are cool to the touch, encouraging a more refreshing sleep, especially for those who tend to sleep hot.

We are impressed with the mattress’s high water-vapor permeability, designed to increase breathability and airflow. Moving moisture and heat from the body helps maintain a comfortable body temperature, preventing discomfort from overheating.

Budget-Friendly

The Glacier Summit Hybrid is a good price for a hybrid, especially given its patented sleep technology and thoughtful construction. The mattress in a box style helps explain the lower price. For those who want a new mattress, have a strict budget, and don’t want to compromise on the quality of materials, this Glacier model may be the right fit.

Little Bounce But Good Edge Support

If you are looking for a mattress with a good bounce when you move on it, Glacier’s Summit Hybrid may not be right for you. Some online reviewers point out that it has little bounce, which may not be ideal during intimacy. With that said, other features of the mattress can make being intimate more comfortable. For example, the Summit is made with strong edge support from its thicker coils and breathable design. Strong perimeter-edge support prevents the feeling of being about to fall off the side of the mattress, making for more usable surface.

Lower Motion Transfer for Couples

Certain web reviewers describe this mattress as having less motion transfer. That often appeals to couples as there’s much less chance of feeling your partner move during the night and waking you up on your side of the mattress. It may help you get an interrupted sleep even if your partner tosses and turns a lot at night. The individually wrapped coils absorb motion well as each coil compresses on its own, so the rest of the mattress stays stable. For couples with different sleep schedules and light sleepers, this feature is likely to be especially important.

Fiberglass Free and Eco-Friendly Certifications

Those who have kids in the home or sensitive individuals often look for a mattress made in a fiberglass-free factory like this one from Glacier. Fire-retardant yarn with a rayon barrier is used as a protective layer for safety and comfort.

The Summit Hybrid Mattress is fiberglass free. There are no toxic chemical flame retardants in it, so there’s no potential fiberglass-related issues like skin and eye irritation. Moreover, it is GREENGUARD® Gold certified, meaning it has been thoroughly tested to meet high standards for low chemical emissions, making it part of a healthier sleep environment.

Also, the foams are CertiPUR-US® certified. They have passed strict tests for certain heavy metals, including mercury and lead, and are free of formaldehyde, ozone depleters, and phthalates. Those looking for a more eco-friendly sleep environment may want this label on their mattress. There is also peace of mind in choosing a mattress with cleaner, safer, higher-quality foam.

Other environmentally friendly features of the Summit Hybrid pertain to its base and coils. The base panels are made with REPREVE® recycled polyester, a fabric made from single-use water bottles, thereby diverting these bottles from ending up in landfills. The coils are made of recycled steel, sourced from post-consumer steel, and tempered for extra durability.

No Off-Gassing

There is no odor or off-gassing when unboxing this Glacier mattress, as per the company’s US website. While some memory foam mattresses are made using materials that release potentially harmful VOCs into the air (volatile organic compounds), this mattress does not. That is good news for those who are sensitive to odors and want to make a more eco-friendly choice.

Visit Store

Also Important: Shipping, Sleep Trial and Warranty

The Summit Hybrid ships free across the contiguous 48 US states using ground shipping. Unfortunately, it does not ship to Hawaii or Alaska. A 365-night sleep trial comes with the Glacier Summit Hybrid Mattress, giving you plenty of time to try it at home.

The 365-night trial period extends well beyond a few months, showing the brand’s confidence in its construction. In the unlikely event you want to return the mattress within the allotted time, Glacier offers free returns based on its return policy guidelines.

Glacier also includes a lifetime limited warranty with the Summit Hybrid Mattress. That shows the company stands behind its quality and durable construction. Reading the warranty policy to find out about the included coverage for defects in materials and workmanship, as well as what is excluded and other information, helps you make a more informed decision.

Concluding Glacier’s Summit Hybrid Mattress Review

This hybrid mattress in a box offers potential benefits to a range of sleepers. Although it does not ship to Hawaii or Alaska, the American-made Summit Hybrid offers quality materials while staying budget-friendly. The mattress has the potential to provide relief to some hot sleepers with its cooling tech, and couples may appreciate its low motion transfer.

Plus, the mattress has targeted lumbar zone support that some sleepers look for, especially with its special chiropractor approved label. The medium firmness of this mattress designed for all sleep positions may also relieve pressure in the hips and shoulders.

Also, eco-conscious shoppers will have more peace of mind with the CertiPUR-US® and GREENGUARD® Gold certifications. The qualities described above lead us to recommend the Glacier Summit Hybrid mattress in a box to certain sleepers for a more comfortable and supportive sleep.

Six Helix Mattress Types

The six Helix Mattresses that we focus on here vary by amount of support and firmness. They are:

  • Sunset
  • Moonlight
  • Midnight
  • Dusk
  • Twilight
  • Dawn

The mattresses come in the most common sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. So you can choose which size best meets your needs. We love the ability to personalize the Helix Mattress by firmness and support, as we explain below.

Top 3 Features of the Helix Mattresses

  • Personalize Your Design
  • Great Edge Support
  • 120 Night Sleep Trial

Comparing Helix Firmness Levels

Sunset and Moonlight are soft for firmness level. So, what does soft or plush feel like? Imagine how it would be to sink into a cloud and you’ll be thinking along the right lines.

As for Dusk and Midnight, they both have a medium feel. When laying on either one, you would feel more like you are on top of it than sinking into it as you would with a softer option.

There is still a bit of give to a medium firm mattress though, unlike with a firm feel mattress. Twilight and Dawn are examples of the latter type; they are firmer than the four others.

How Much Mattress Support Is There?

The amount of support a mattress provides varies from model to model. A Helix mattress will be either a balanced support design or extra support. “Balanced” means that it distributes weight evenly to reduce tossing and turning in the night. Extra support refers to the feeling of an extra supportive mattress.

Within the softest options, the Helix Sunset mattress offers balanced support, while Moonight is designed for extra support. For the medium firm models, Dusk has extra support, whereas Moonlight has balanced support. Helix Twilight and Dawn are the firmest ones; Twilight has balanced support while Helix Dawn has extra support.

Sleep Positions and Helix Mattresses

Now that you see the differences in support and firmness for the six Helix hybrid mattresses, you are likely wondering which one to choose. The one that will feel the best and provide you the most comfortable, uninterrupted sleep, of course! But, which model is it? Obviously each body is different so what you prefer might not be the same for your best friend. But generally these are how users rate the models for different sleeping positions:

  • Side sleeper – Helix Midnight, Twilight, and Sunset get high marks from side sleepers for providing good pressure relief.
  • All sleep positions – Moonlight, Dusk, and Dawn each receive favorable ratings from back, side, stomach, and combination sleepers.

Please keep in mind that these reviews are for average weight sleepers. “Average” is between 125-225 lbs. Ratings may change with a lighter or heavier weight as it changes the feel of the mattress. We are simply pointing out the average ratings to give you an idea of what to expect from each Helix mattress we discuss here.

Helix Plus Mattress for Heavy People

Helix Plus specifically designed for plus size sleepers:
  • Type: 4-layer hybrid mattress
  • High-density 4lb foam layer for maximum support

Hybrid Construction of the Helix Mattresses

Each of these beds are hybrid, meaning that they combine premium memory foam with innerspring. They are also American-made. Rather than being all foam or all coil, they are a combination for the best of both worlds. They are well-made with great edge support to provide more surface room for rolling out, which is ideal if you regularly sleep with a partner. And if you sit on the edge of the bed to put on your socks, you’re less likely to roll right off than with one that has poor edge support.

The exact construction differs according to the model, which explains why they provide different levels of firmness and support. We like that the bed is personalized to you; choose the one that provides the best feel based on your unique body. When doing so, 36% report a better sleep quality with a Helix mattress than with their previous one. The design is meant to provide spinal support and alignment.

All six Hybrid mattresses share the ability to provide optimal airflow. Some reviewers online comment on the coolness of the mattress, which helps prevent you from waking up during the night due to feeling too hot. An Ultra-Cool Cover is available too if you want an upgrade.

Two optional bases are also available from Helix. They are the Helix Adjustable Base and Helix Platform Base.

Helix Adjustable Base

Optimize your sleep comfort by adding a Helix Adjustable Bed Base to your Helix mattress. This type of base fits many sizes of adjustable bed frames, including Twin XL, Queen, Split King, and Split Cali King.

Among the top features of the Helix Adjustable Base are:

  • Adjusts at the head and feet
  • Dual massage areas
  • “Zero Gravity” setting

The Helix Adjustable Base comes with a remote control that enables you to easily lift or lower the head and feet of the mattress. Achieve an elevation you like, whether you are reaching in bed, watching TV, or want to sleep.

Raising the head, for example, can be helpful for someone who has acid reflux. Raising the head and legs to achieve a seeming weightlessness or “Zero Gravity” can benefit someone who wants less pressure on their lower back. The remote even has memory settings so you can return to that same great position whenever you want to do so.

The Helix Adjustable Base also has 3D-Wave™ Massage Technology. Enjoy a massage for the head and legs with this built-in feature. There are three intensity settings; simply choose the one you prefer.

This durable, adjustable base is made of foam, steel, solid wood, and fabric upholstery. It has a minimalistic, modern appearance that completes the look of the bed, and reviewers explain that assembly only takes about 15 minutes. While there is no sleep trial included, there is free shipping to the home (contiguous US) and a 10-Year Limited Warranty.

Helix Platform Base

The Helix Platform Base is another option for a proper foundation. The wood frame is used in place of a mattress foundation. It fits with your selected Helix mattress as it comes in all the popular sizes, including Twin XL, Queen, King, and California King.

Helix offers two options for the Platform Base so that you get the look you want.

The two choices are:

  • Natural wood
  • White wood

The wood frame has a refined, minimalistic appearance, and it is made of top-quality natural materials. The bed rails are made of Appalachian hardwood, while the slats are sturdy Southern Yellow Pine, and the legs are Appalachian Maple. Those are the only materials, and all wood finishes are water-based, which means there are no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can potentially lead to nausea or headaches.

The Appalachian hardwood is reinforced for durability and strength. It is handmade in the U.S. and does not require any tools to assemble.

Included with this Helix Platform Base is 30 night sleep trial so you can decide if it is right for you. At the time of writing this review, there is also a five-year limited warranty, and free shipping directly to your home in the contiguous United States, with a reasonable fee to Alaska and Hawaii.

Helix Mattress Sleep Trial and Warranty

Sunset, Moonlight, Midnight, Dusk, Twilight, and Dawn all come with a 120 night sleep trial. Rather than just having a few minutes in a store to lay down on a bed now you have 120 nights to test out the bed. Is it comfortable enough for you? Does it support you at your pressure points? Having a lengthy time to make sure it’s the right bed for you (and your partner) is great.

Furthermore, the Helix Mattresses come with an impressive limited lifetime warranty. Please note this only applies to the original purchaser of the mattress and has limitations. Also, we are not responsible for any changes Helix makes to the warranty, sleep trial, and other policies after our review publishes.

As for the mattress price, it is affordable. As it is online-only, there is no middleman. This means that there’s no extra cost to pay. It ships to your house and many reviewers explain they received their bed within a reasonable time.

Concluding Thoughts on Helix Mattresses

Now you have the comparison of six Helix mattresses: Sunset, Moonlight, Midnight, Dusk, Twilight, and Dawn. They vary by construction to provide different support and firmness, according to your sleep preferences. What they have in common is good edge support, premium materials, affordable prices, and personalization. After looking over all of the details, we recommend the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress. And if you look for a mattress for heavy people, we recommend the Helix Plus mattress.

Construction

At 13.5 inches high, the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress features contouring and temperature control layers, as well as a coil core and high density foam base. The following sections describe its construction in detail.

CopperFlex and TitanCool Top Layer

The top layer of the Aurora Luxe mattress combines contouring and temperature control. The 1.5-inch layer of CopperFlex relieves pressure on your shoulders, neck and hips as it contours to the shape of your body. An infusion of copper adds antibacterial properties and draws heat away from your body.

In the same top layer, TitanCool technology uses gel beads that liquefy at higher temperatures and solidify at lower temperatures. The result is a consistently comfortable sleep surface.

Cloud Pillow-Top Add-On

If you like, you can add the ultra-soft, cooling Cloud Pillow Top to your Aurora Luxe order. Talk about comfort: this extra contouring layer provides even more pressure point relief. The dual foam layers  and cooling fibers will leave you feeling like you’re sleeping on a cloud. This add-on pillow-top is expertly sewn to provide many nights of dreamy comfort.

TitanFlex Foam Layer

Next, a soft TitanFlex foam layer quickly responds to changes in your sleep position. The soft and medium versions of the Aurora Luxe mattress contain a 2-inch layer of soft or medium TitanFlex foam and a 1-inch layer of gel swirl memory foam for enhanced pressure point relief.

The firm version combines a 1.5-inch layer of firm TitanFlex foam with a 1.5-inch layer of VariFlex transition foam. This layer provides extra support for hips, shoulders and neck and helps keep the spine aligned in a neutral position.

Ascension Coils

The Aurora Luxe mattress core provides pressure relief and motion isolation, thanks to up to 1,032 Ascension coils. The 8-inch core contains individually encased coils that provide support where it is needed most. For couples, the motion isolation feature means that you won’t disturb your partner when you move or get out of bed.

High-Density Foam Base

All of these features work best with a sturdy layer of support. That’s why Aurora Luxe mattresses include a 0.75-inch layer of high-density foam. This layer adds a durable base that supports the compressed coils.

Three Firmness Options

The Aurora Luxe mattress is available in three firmness levels:

  • Soft — provides pressure point relief and gentle contouring support that “hugs” the shape of your body. The soft version has a 2-to-4 rating on a firmness scale of 1 to 10, and is a good choice for side sleepers.
  • Medium — with a 4-to-6 firmness rating, the medium version strikes a balance between contouring and support. It provides contouring without the “hugging” effect and works well for combination back, stomach and side sleepers.
  • Firm — the smooth, flat surface supports the lower back and prevents sinking into the mattress. With a 6-to-8 firmness rating, the firm version is a good choice for back or stomach sleepers.

Sizes

You can choose from a wide range of sizes to find the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe that’s a good fit for your home:

  • Twin
  • Twin XL
  • Queen
  • King
  • California King
  • Split California King

Mattress in a Box

Your Aurora Luxe mattress is shipped in a box directly to your door. Just carry the box to your bedroom, take the mattress out of the packaging and let it decompress for 3 to 5 hours before using it. Make sure the room is well ventilated so that the mattress can also air out. Full decompression and odor dissipation takes up to 24 hours, but you can use the mattress after a few hours.

Starting on the day you receive your mattress, you have a 120-night trial period to decide if you want to keep it. The company requires that you wait at least 30 days before returning it. You can return the mattress anytime within 30 to 120 days after you receive it.

Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Mattress Review: Pros and Any Limitations

After our research, we believe that the Aurora Luxe mattress has several advantages. We have also included areas where there is room for improvement.

Temperature Control

Waking up sweaty or feeling too warm can make it difficult to get back to sleep. You can sleep comfortably cool on the Aurora Luxe. The top layer of the mattress combines CopperFlex and TitanCool to draw away body heat and maintain a steady temperature.

Motion Isolation

Do you or your partner toss and turn or get out of bed during the night? The Aurora Luxe’s core contains individually encased coils that isolate motion. That means that you can get in and out of bed in the middle of the night without disturbing your partner. Motion isolation can be a big help when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep.

Support and Contouring

Depending on the firmness level, the Aurora Luxe provides the contouring and support that your body needs. If you have back pain, the firm version keeps your spine in a neutral position and prevents your body from sinking into the mattress. The soft version creates a “hugging” effect and gentle support. If you and your partner have different sleep preferences, the medium version can provide a balance.

Convenient Mattress in a Box

With the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora, you don’t have the hassle of making an appointment for delivery or missing work on delivery day. Your mattress will be shipped in a box and delivered to your door while you’re at work or running errands. You won’t have to rearrange your day to meet a furniture delivery team.

120-Night Trial

Choosing a mattress is much easier when you know you have 120 nights to try it out. It can take weeks to get used to a new mattress, especially when two people are sharing it. If you decide after 30 days that the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe isn’t right for you, let the company know. You can return the mattress within 30 to 120 days after you receive it.

Decompression and Aeration

You won’t be able to use your mattress immediately after it arrives in a box. After you take it out of the box and remove the plastic wrapping, the mattress will have to decompress and aerate for at least 3 to 5 hours in a well-ventilated room. You can sleep on the mattress after a few hours, but it can take 24 hours for the mattress to be fully decompressed and odor-free.

Final Thoughts on Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Mattress

Available in soft, medium or firm versions, the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress offers support and contouring for a comfortable sleep. Depending on you or your partner’s sleep preferences, you can have a smooth, flat sleep surface or gentle contouring. TitanCool and CopperFlex technologies combine to keep the mattress cool on contact. You can choose from a variety of mattress sizes to suit your needs.

Convenience is another feature of this mattress, which is shipped in a box directly to your door. On delivery day, your boxed mattress will be waiting on your doorstep when you get home from work. All you have to do is carry the box in the door and to your bedroom.

You can use the Aurora Luxe a few hours after you remove it from the box, but it requires as much as 24 hours to fully decompress and aerate. When you remove it from the box and plastic wrap, make sure the bedroom is well ventilated so that the odor will dissipate.

The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress is backed by a 120-night sleep trial and a generous limited lifetime warranty. If you decide after 30 days that you don’t want to keep it, you can return the mattress within 120 days after you received it.

Accord to our research and review, it is our opinion that the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress is a quality product of value.

Leesa Original Mattress Review

Main Features List: Leesa Original Mattress

To help you get a better idea of what to expect, here is a snapshot of the Original’s top features based on our team’s research:

  • USA design and assembly
  • Breathable cool-knit cover
  • Exclusive cooling foam
  • Contouring memory foam
  • High-density base support foam
  • Risk-free 120-night sleep trial

The Original Mattress is designed to be used with a solid base or a slatted base, such as the Leesa Foundation, which is available as an add-on at checkout. Solid, flat bed slats rather than a box spring provide the best support for Leesa mattresses, as per its US website. Using bowed or flexible slats can lead to damage and void the manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty for the mattress.

Is Medium Firmness Right for You?

The firmness of a mattress is important to know as it helps you decide if it is likely to have the feel you want. The Leesa Original has a medium firmness. That means it is in the range between 4-6 on the industry-standard mattress comfort scale, whereby 1 is the softest and 10 is the firmest. Many average-weight side, back, and combination sleepers find a medium level of firmness, like the Original Mattress has, to be comfortable and supportive enough.

Lightweight sleepers, however, may prefer a soft mattress over a firmer one, and stomach sleepers may want a firmer mattress to prevent the hips from sinking. Plus-size sleepers may need a firmer mattress than Leesa’s Original for optimal support. On the other hand, the Original Mattress can be great for couples with different preferences for firmness and softness as it offers a middle ground. Ultimately, the mattress feel that you prefer is a personal thing.

Size Options

Leesa’s popular Original Mattress is 10 inches thick. It is available in several standard US sizes to suit singles and couples:

  • Twin: 38” x 75”
  • Twin XL: 38” x 80”
  • Full: 53” x 75”
  • Queen: 60” x 80”
  • King: 76” x 80”
  • Cal King: 72” x 84”

Leesa Original Mattress Review of Construction

Understanding how the all-foam mattress is made and the materials used can help you decide if it’s a good fit for your home.

USA Design and Assembly

If supporting local is important to you, this feature matters. The Original Mattress is designed and assembled in Leesa’s Arizona factory by a craftsperson with over a decade of experience, as per its US website. The mattress is made to order and can vary up to 2 inches on any side as it is handmade.

4 Layers

This mattress has four layers and features three types of CertiPUR-US® certified foams, with a breathable cool-knit cover. The top cover is a polyester-viscose blend.

Below is a 2-inch layer of exclusive foam for cooling and comfort. The third layer is 2 inches of contouring memory foam. Finally, a thick 6-inch layer of high-density support foam offers support and durability for various body types.

Fiberglass Free

The Leesa Original is a fiberglass free mattress. Free of toxic chemical flame retardants, the mattress has a fire retardant yarn with a rayon barrier derived from 100% regenerated cellulose. That keeps away fiberglass-related issues, such as itchy eyes and skin irritation.

Leesa Original Mattress Review: Pros and Any Limitations

All-Foam Type

If you grew up on a strictly foam mattress, the Original Mattress is likely to feel familiar and comforting with its hug-like feel. Others may prefer a strictly innerspring mattress that has more bounce. Some people look for a hybrid type combining foam and springs, such as plus-size sleepers wanting more support. An all-foam mattress type generally molds to the body, encouraging spinal alignment for many back, side, and combination sleepers, which may reduce or prevent back pain.

Extra Pressure Relief

The deep layer of memory foam contours the body, offering superior pressure relief in the hip, shoulder, and back. That is especially beneficial when lying on your back and side, where these sensitive areas might otherwise get sore during the night. That may prevent or reduce soreness in the morning.

Five-Star Reviews

Leesa’s Original memory foam mattress has over 14,000 five-star reviews on its US website. Several sleepers describe the mattress as improving their sleep quality and being very comfortable and supportive. Others point out it is well-made. While these results are not guaranteed, knowing so many people have a positive experience with this mattress can be reassuring.

Does the Leesa Original Mattress sound like a good fit for you? See what else buyers have to say.

Cooling Properties

High-airflow foams help keep this mattress cool. Those who overheat regularly at night may look for a mattress with a breathable design like this one. The foams encourage air circulation, including a 2-inch layer of breathable foam exclusive to Leesa. That helps prevent the mattress from trapping heat the way traditional foams can do.

Plus, a moisture-wicking cover helps keep the top sleep surface dry. That may prevent waking up unexpectedly during the night in a sweat. Cooling features in the Original Mattress can help some sleepers enjoy the hug-like feel of foam without heat buildup.

Motion Isolation

Light sleepers who easily awaken will appreciate that a memory foam mattress like Leesa’s Original is known for excellent motion isolation. That means that if your partner moves during the night, you are less likely to feel it on your side of the mattress. That makes this mattress right for some couples.

Certified Foam

All three foams in this mattress are CertiPUR-US® certified. This well-recognized label means the foams meet rigorous standards for content, durability, and emissions. They are free of certain chemicals and heavy metals, like lead and mercury, and contain no ozone depleters. Environmentally conscious shoppers will likely appreciate this certification.

The CertiPUR-US® certification also generally means less odor or “off-gassing” when unboxing a new mattress containing foam. The foams have low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions for indoor air quality. Those who are sensitive to smells or have breathing difficulties are more likely to look for this label.

Plus, the mattress is GREENGUARD Gold certified after undergoing rigorous testing for over 360 VOCs, making for minimal volatile organic compound emissions. That help make this mattress part of a healthier bedroom.

Mattress in a Box

Leesa’s Original is a mattress in a box, a popular type online for its affordability and delivery to your door. The mattress is compressed, rolled, and packaged to conveniently ship to your home without a special shipping service or middleman. Fewer fees involved means mattresses in a box are often priced lower than in physical showrooms. Moving the box to the bedroom is also typically easier than a traditional mattress.

Reasonable Price

The Leesa Original Mattress is in the mid-range for all-foam mattress prices. It is well-priced, in our opinion, given the top-quality foams, opportunity for pressure relief, and free delivery to all 50 US states.

Free shipping to your home adds to the convenience of not having to pick it up from a store. There are also occasional promos for online shoppers only. If you want help with mattress setup, a White Glove Delivery service is available for a small fee.

Community Initiatives

Choosing the Original Mattress means supporting Leesa’s community-focused initiatives. Leesa donates thousands of mattresses each year to those in need, as per its US site. Leesa also takes steps to be more eco-friendly by collecting plastic through orders before it can reach the sea, helping to maintain cleaner oceans.

What Else to Know: Sleep Trial and Warranty

Sleep Trial

Leesa offers a risk-free 120-night sleep trial with the Original Mattress. That gives you several weeks to try it at home. In the unlikely case that you are not fully satisfied, having the option to return the mattress after 30 days for a full refund, less the value of any discount received, can be reassuring.

Warranty

A manufacturer’s warranty is good to know about, too. Leesa’s Original Mattress includes a limited lifetime warranty covering specific defects in workmanship or materials, with prorated coverage beginning in year 11. The impressive warranty length shows Leesa’s confidence in its mattress. Reading the mattress warranty helps you know what it includes, any exclusions, and other details.

Concluding Remarks: Leesa Original Mattress Review

The contouring feel of a memory foam mattress like this one, which is designed and assembled in the US, appeals to many sleepers. The 10-inch thick Original Mattress is fiberglass free and features certified foam layers beneath a breathable cover.

While its medium firmness may not be right for some stomach or plus-size sleepers, it offers comfort, pressure relief, and enough support for many side, back, and combination sleepers, as shown by the thousands of five-star reviews online. Also, hot sleepers may find relief with the affordable mattress’s cooling properties.

Finally, a risk-free sleep trial gives you time to try the contouring mattress at home. The limited lifetime warranty also helps protect you. The Leesa Original Mattress is a well-constructed memory foam mattress to consider.

Let’s begin the Cocoon by Sealy unbiased review with a list of the main features of the Chill memory foam mattress:

  • Trustworthy brand since 1881
  • Perfect Fit memory foam adapts to your unique body
  • Proprietary cooling technology to keep your body cooler
  • Nearly unmatched pricing and value within the space

Cocoon by Sealy Mattress Review 650

Visit Cocoon

The Cocoon Chill is designed and built in the United States. This memory foam mattress in a box has a medium firmness. It has a firmness rating of 6 out of 10, where 10 is extra firm and 1 is ultra-soft.

About Sealy

The name Sealy is well-known across the US and beyond. It is a top mattress brand that originated in 1881. The company’s longevity gives you peace of mind that it is not a fly-by-night operation and that it has an upstanding reputation.

The lineup for this trustworthy American brand includes Cocoon by Sealy. As per the Sealy website, it has been tested on over 100,000 cycles of the “Rollator Surface Fatigue” and “Mattress Durability Impact Test” at the company’s testing center in Trinity, NC.

These tests simulate the wear and tear you can expect in a mattress over 10 years. That helps you feel confident in the durability of the mattress over time.

Cocoon by Sealy Unbiased Review: What is its Construction Like?

The Cocoon Chill Memory Foam Mattress has a 10-inch thickness. It features a cooling cover and three foam layers.

The top layer is a stretch-knit Cooling Cover made with Sealy’s proprietary “Phase Change Material.” This special cover absorbs heat and dissipates it to keep you cool as you sleep.

Next is the Perfect Fit Memory Foam, a top-quality memory foam that adapts to your unique body shape, size, and sleep position. Beneath that is Responsive Comfort Foam, which is a cushioned support layer.

The fourth and final layer of the Sealy Chill memory foam mattress is the Essential Support Layer that is made of extra-durable foam. Sealy’s website says that it has been tested to bounce back each time.

Cocoon by Sealy Chill Memory Foam Mattress Unbiased Review of Benefits and Any Drawbacks

At the time of writing this review, there were more than 5,600 reviews for the Chill Memory Foam Mattress at the Sealy website, and they averaged 4.5 stars out of 5. That’s an impressive score! Here are the top benefits, based on our research and what we read in those online reviews.

Firstly, the Perfect Fit Memory Foam is a custom feature that we like a lot. A big challenge we see with mattress shopping is finding one that provides support when everyone’s body is a bit different. Sealy overcomes this obstacle by using a memory foam that adapts and responds to your unique contours, from body size to shape. It even conforms to your chosen sleep position.

This custom level of support is designed to help you stay asleep by providing pressure relief. This latter term refers to taking pressure off different pressure points on the body, such as the shoulders.

Good support also distributes your body weight evenly across the mattress. This can improve sleep quality.

We also like the custom feature because it means that the Sealy Chill memory foam can be a mattress for anyone in your family. That is because it will conform to each person’s body size, shape, and sleeping position well.

Does the Cocoon Mattress sound like a good fit for you? See what else buyers have to say

See Buyer Reviews

While the Sealy Chill memory foam is suitable for all sleep positions, it is best suited for side and stomach sleepers because of its medium firmness level. Many reviewers online talk about how comfortable the mattress is and the high quality of sleep they have on it.

As for the cooling cover, it has Sealy’s special Phase Change Material, which is great for anyone who sleeps hot. It absorbs heat and dissipates it so that you are less likely to wake up feeling overheated. So, if you are looking for a cooler mattress, the Cocoon by Sealy Chill memory foam is one to consider seriously.

What’s more, the Responsive Comfort Foam provides cushioned support beneath the Perfect Foam layer. It reduces motion transfer, which means you are less likely to wake up if your partner moves during the night on the same mattress. It also helps prevent a sinking feeling while lying on the mattress, which many people dislike.

There are some reviews online, though, that mention the associated smell with the mattress once they remove it from the box. This scent is called off-gassing, and it can take a short time for the odor to subside.

But there is a lot to be said for the convenience of ordering the mattress online and receiving it at your doorstep to simply unbox it. The setup is easy and fast, explain many web reviews.

Plus, it’s clear to us that Cocoon by Sealy is affordable without compromising the quality of its materials or construction. It is a premium mattress with advanced sleep tech. Many reviewers online explain that it fits within their budget, so that’s great to know that you are getting great value.Cocoon by Sealy Mattress Review 650 2nd

Also from Sealy: The Cocoon Chill Hybrid Mattress

Another Cocoon by Sealy Mattress available is the Cocoon Chill Hybrid. It features the same cooling cover as the Sealy Chill memory foam but is a bit thicker at 12 inches (the Sealy Chill memory foam is 10 inches). That means that it is well-suited for those who tend to overheat during the night. By staying cooler, you are more likely to sleep through the night without waking up.

As its name suggests, it is a hybrid mattress, which means that it combines premium foam with flexible coils. This mixture of materials in the Chill Hybrid provides what some reviewers say is a greater level of responsiveness than the Cocoon Chill.

Both mattresses receive rave reviews online for being supportive and reduced pressure points. Both models also feature Perfect Fit Memory Foam, which conforms to your body size, shape, and sleep position.

What Makes the Best Memory Foam Mattress?

Memory foam is a popular material, but that doesn’t mean that every memory foam mattress is the same quality. You work hard for your money, so we point out the differences between them, including how some rate better than others on cooling, motion isolation, and more. And our analyses are in-depth so that you get a good understanding of exactly what each memory foam mattress can provide you and a look at where it could use some improvement if any at all. We point out our recommended brands and tell you what we think about them; we hope you like our refreshing take on bedding and find one that suits your needs.

Is There Only One Type of Memory Foam?

No. There are three main foam types in a memory foam mattress: polyurethane, plant-derived, and gel. Manufacturers are increasingly using plant types of memory foam for their eco-friendly benefits. As for gel, it is helpful for reducing overheating issues that some people associated with traditional memory foam, so that the body can be cooler during the night for a good sleep.

What do these three key types of foam have in common? The quality they all share is that the material returns to its original shape when you move. That’s where the term “memory” foam comes from, in case you were curious about it.

Can a Memory Foam Mattress Ease Back Pain?

There is no single answer to this question. But we can tell you that some brands are specifically designed to help alleviate back pain. Whether it is effective at doing so or not depends on many factors, including your specific back condition and the mattress. Is it worth testing out the support of the best memory foam mattress at home during a risk-free sleep trial? That’s for you to decide, but we encourage you to find out all about the recommended brands and models in our memory foam mattress reviews.

Do Memory Foam Mattresses Sleep Hot?

In the past, all-foam mattresses were known for making the sleep surface warm, which would wake up some sleepers. However, many popular memory foam mattresses today overcome this challenge with features that help keep sleepers cooler.

The best memory foam mattresses may include features like gel memory foam and breathable covers, which help neutralize the body’s temperature to prevent overheating at night. That can make for uninterrupted sleep, so you are more likely to feel refreshed the next day. In each memory foam mattress review, we provide you with details about construction and materials to help determine if there are cooling features and, if so, what they are.

Memory Foam vs. Latex

Understanding the construction and feel of different mattress types can help you determine which one you prefer. One is not necessarily better than other; it comes down to personal preference.

A major difference between memory foam and latex is how they conform to the body. Memory foam conforms to your unique body shape, while latex instead compresses and bounces. Latex only conforms to the general impression of the body, rather than being exact like memory foam.

Another difference between memory foam and latex is how well they isolate motion. Memory foam typically provides excellent motion isolation, which means you are unlikely to feel a movement on the other side of this type of mattress if it is made well. That makes a memory foam mattress one that many couples prefer as they won’t wake up even if their partner moves during the night.

Unfortunately, latex does not isolate motion as well as memory foam. As latex is bouncy, you are likely to feel your partner move on the other side of the bed.

Memory Foam vs. Innerspring

An innerspring mattress typically has more bounce than a memory foam one. Whether you like this feeling or not is a personal preference.

In comparison to innerspring, a memory foam mattress usually conforms better to the body. That is because memory foam fits every curve of the body. However, it tends to be less responsive than an innerspring model.

While traditional all-foam mattresses were known to sleep hot, many popular memory foam mattresses online now have cooling features that overcome this challenge. A gel memory foam layer is one example. Interestingly, many innerspring models today incorporate memory foam in them.

As for the feel of each mattress type, memory foam models tend to have at least a bit of a sinking feeling to them. If you like the feel of sleeping “in” a mattress rather than “on” it, you will prefer it. On the other hand, if you want little to no sink and like the feeling of sleeping “on” a mattress rather than “in” it, you might want to look for an innerspring mattress.

When is a Memory Foam Mattress the Right Choice for You?

By now, you are likely wondering if memory foam is the right choice for you. This mattress type is known for evening out the body’s weight and conforming to the natural curve of the spine. However, there are other things to consider.

Feel

For example, if you want a hugging feeling as you sleep, memory foam provides it. Some people find this sensation to be very comforting and helps them fall asleep.

Motion Transfer

A memory foam mattress may also be suitable for couples who want to enjoy sleeping through the night even if their partner beside them tosses and turns. Memory foam has low motion transfer, so movement on the other side of the mattress is unlikely to reach you and wake you up.

Lifespan

Furthermore, memory foam is known to be long-lasting. Thus, this type is a good choice for those who want to get a long life out of their mattress. Of course, not all mattresses are made the same, so we encourage you to read the reviews here to determine how they are constructed, warranty details, and more.

Sleep Position

Sleeping position is another important consideration. If you primarily sleep on your back or side, a memory foam mattress might be the best one for you.

These sleeping styles are typically compatible with memory foam designs as they provide enough support and comfort. Combination sleepers may also find that memory foam mattresses are right for them.

Sleep Trial

A major benefit of choosing a mattress online is that it typically comes with a sleep trial. This trial period extends a certain number of nights, such as 100 nights, so that you can determine at home if the mattress is right for you.

If you decide it does not meet your sleep needs, many companies provide a refund within that trial period, provided you meet the policy requirements. This trial period improves consumer confidence in their decision, and we think trying out the mattress at home makes more sense than resting on it for a brief time in a mattress showroom.

What are CertiPUR-US® Certified Foams?

In the best memory foam mattress reviews, you may notice details about CertiPUR-US® foams. While it is easy to skim over certifications, we encourage you to note them as indicative of the quality of the product.

Foams that pass CertiPUR-US® certification are made without ozone depleters. The foam meets standards for emissions, content, and durability. In other words, a mattress that meets this high standard contains very low amounts of toxic chemicals. For shoppers who have sensitivities, this certification is important, as well as those who want to make an eco-friendlier choice and care about the indoor air quality in their home.

Is a Memory Foam Mattress Always Soft?

No. The firmness can vary from one model to another. The firmness is an important consideration when memory foam mattress shopping as it affects the level of comfort and impacts the support of the bed. While memory foam models are often softer than average, they can also be medium-soft and medium-firm.

The material is often known for providing great comfort and pressure point relief. If you are unsure what the firmness is of a mattress, our reviews will tell you this important detail.

Common Questions

Why choose a mattress online?

The main reason why people used to buy mattresses in a physical store was so that they could try it out. Now you can get a sleep trial and great warranty with a mattress bought online. The included sleep trial is actually better than trying it in the store because what you can sleep on the mattress for several nights before deciding whether to keep or return it – which is a heck of a lot longer than 5 or 10 minutes in a store, right?! Plus, most online companies focus on solely 1 or 2 models, rather than offering several types that might be confusing in a brick-and-mortar location.

How do I know if I need a new mattress?

Many people don’t think about when they last went mattress shopping. But a mattress is the most used piece of furniture you likely have in your home! And when you think about how many hours you spend on it a night, the time adds up quickly. So if it’s been over 8 years since your last one, you don’t wake up feeling rejuvenated in the morning anymore, or it has lost its shape, these are all common signs you need a new mattress.

Does my sleep position matter when choosing a mattress?

Yes! Many people don’t consider it but different types of firmness suit different sleep positions. Side sleepers, for example, typically prefer a soft or medium level of firmness. For back sleepers, a firmer mattress is essential for proper spinal alignment. Weight is another factor too as it affects how much support the body feels and the ability to feel comfortable.
